This week there was a celebration in Windsor Heights to mark what could be a model for other communities around Des Moines. The Des Moines Area Rapid Transit (DART) partnered with the Windsor Heights Chamber to say thank you to the players in the new Transit Hub which is under construction between the Apple Valley Shopping Center and Sam's Club. I spoke with Amanda Wanke, External Affairs Officer for DART, Zac Bales-Henry, City Council of Windsor Heights and Josh Mandelbaum from the Des Moines City Council.

Coming up before the Des Moines, Iowa City Council on Monday 24 September is a plan to adopt a "Complete Streets" program for the city. What is it and how has AARP-Iowa motivated their membership to get involved in calling their city council person in support of the project? Good questions...here we sit down with Don Corrigan a volunteer with AARP-Iowa and he tells us what the project is, what it will do for business as well as residents and those visiting the city.
