This past weekend the Mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio, was in Iowa talking with folks that may be interested in seeing him run for president. He met with several party leaders including former Governor and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack (who last week said he would not run for the U.S. Senate against Sen. Joni Ernst) to talk and kick tires. I caught up with the Mayor at the Asian Latino Coalition event where he received a warm welcome from Des Moines Mayor Frank Cownie and a crowd of roughly 75 people. We talked about her legislative priorities that she feels will impact not only her district but all of Iowa. She also offered a pledge to work with members of the GOP to get things done.
