Workers, Unions and the AFL/CIO with Charlie Wishman
Monday Feb 08, 2021
Monday Feb 08, 2021
This conversation with Charlie Wishman was brought about after we received a press release from the Iowa AFL/CIO about legislation bubbling back up in Washington D.C. called The PRO Act. Not only did we miss this on our radar but something else in the release caught our attention. This line: The PRO Act would, "...repeal Jim Crow era laws like "right to work," which leads to lower wages, fewer benefits and more dangerous workplaces." Key to that sentence is the reference to "Jim Crow". What we learned led to the call that resulted in this conversation with the Iowa AFL/CIO president which ranges from those issues to the Amazon union vote in Alabama.
