In spite of some positive economic news today the failed trip to Hanoi regarding the talks between the U.S. and North Korea had investors upset. That story along with:

This week while working on another story for the Business News Hour I ran across an educational display in the Iowa Statehouse where bee keepers and honey manufacturers were there to talk about the economics of bees and the link to our food. The story hinges on how commercial and hobby bee keepers continue to see mounting losses from "bee kills". This past weekend the Mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio, was in Iowa talking with folks that may be interested in seeing him run for president. He met with several party leaders including former Governor and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack (who last week said he would not run for the U.S. Senate against Sen. Joni Ernst) to talk and kick tires. I caught up with the Mayor at the Asian Latino Coalition event where he received a warm welcome from Des Moines Mayor Frank Cownie and a crowd of roughly 75 people.
