She's a former PTA leader in the Des Moines Schools and saw what continued cuts to public education has done to students in the Des Moines Public Schools. So, she decided to do something...different. Pedal Off the Pounds is BACK from the Des Moines Cycle Club

It's a big, big deal! Pedal Off the Pounds was started over 6 years ago as a way to increase membership in the Des Moines Cycle Club plus help people get healthy and get them on bicycles. It's all worked. With us today is Marti Hupp who is leading the POTP charge this year and the winner (or biggest loser) from last year Greg Patterson. The Walnut Creek YMCA with Michelle Allison-Peterson

One of the neat things we get to do is to partner with the Windsor Heights, Iowa Chamber of Commerce in helping them give "voice" to their members. When I saw a recent Facebook Post I had to reach out to its author and learn more. Meet Abena Imhotep who gets the idea of "buying local" but adds another twist...a Black Friday every week.
