Que the happy music...it was another big day on Wall Street. But, there are also some warning signs that nobody seems to notice. Welcome to the Business News Headlines. Today;

A Lack of Ammo;
We return to La La Land on Wall Street;

Those stories plus something that aired on News/Talk 1540 KXEL last week that you might want to hear. It's a marketing tip (actually three) that came about during a conversation I had a couple of weeks ago when I was in Arizona. To hear that segment, click here.

Friday Jan 10, 2020
Welcome to the Friday Edition of the business news headlines. Today we've got these stories ready for you:
Anemic job numbers and wage growth put a damper on the week;
More retail sales troubles;
Why are brands leaving Amazon.com and what comes next;
The Wall Street numbers for the day;
Starter homes seem to be making a comeback.
Those stories plus a rare two-part conversation. This time it's about poverty in Iowa and the United States. That uncomfortable reality nobody seems to want to discuss. Today you'll hear from four activists who are bringing the Poor People's Campaign - A National Call for a Moral Revival to Des Moines, Iowa next week. Some stunning numbers and you may be surprised at just who the poor folks...are.
Part One of that interview with Rev. Jessica Petersen, labor leader John Campbell, activist Ayisha Al-Hassan and national organizer Clinton Wright can be heard here.
Part Two of the event scheduled for the 14th and 15th of January at the First Christian Church in the Drake Neighborhood can be heard here.

On Farm Injuries - A Workplace Issue
Tuesday Nov 26, 2019
Tuesday Nov 26, 2019
Agriculture is such an important part of the Midwest and, unlike manufacturing, much of the work is done by humans. Here we visit with Dr. Corinne Peak-Asa from the University of Iowa who has recently concluded a study about on-farm accidents/injuries as a workforce issue. She finds that they are not only under reported but there are questions about who is paying for treatment, rural health care and public policy. It's worth listening to...even if you're a city-dweller.
