Several communities in Polk County are set to vote in March on what is being called the Local Option Sales and Service Tax which would add a penny to the sales tax. We sat down with Brad Anderson the State Director for AARP-Iowa to talk about the impact of the tax on people living in Polk County, Iowa. Some of the things he says may surprise you.

Recently former Maryland governor Martin O'Malley was in Iowa stumping for a host of Democrats seeking election to the Iowa Statehouse and to the U.S. Congress. We caught up with him as he was helping Iowa House candidate Heather Matson in Ankeny. We start the conversation talking about the economy, Wall Street, wages and then work into a discussion as to why he believes the right way to build the future of the Democratic Party is to work hard for candidates not at the top of the ballot. Business and Politics mingled today as a major corporation said "goodbye" to a congressman;
Jared Bernstein is the president of the Jewish Federation of Des Moines we asked him a couple of questions regarding antisemitism growth escalations in the nation and Des Moines.
