Jeff Stein is, first, a broadcaster and serves as the News Director of News/Talk 1540 KXEL in Waterloo/Cedar Falls. In his "spare time" Jeff is also an accomplished author and now a documentary producer. He will be in Des Moines on the 19th of March do a "show and tell" of his piece, "From the Battle Front to the Home Front - Iowa Broadcasters Go to War". He will be at the North Side Library at 3516 5th Avenue in Des Moines at 6pm, Tuesday. Just...go...

We asked the director of JCRC Dr. Mark Finkelstein about the series and then spoke to David Maxwell the principal of Valley High School of West Des Moines, Iowa. Last week we took a two day trip to Lanesboro, MN a tiny rural community of under 780 people. What we found was surprising. Here we sit down with David Hennessey from the Commonweal Theatre Company and taked about how the town took what they had and built on their strengths.
