The event is 75 years old and today you'll meet Terry McWilliams who chairs the event known as the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion…happening in Mount Pleasant, Iowa starting on August 28th. Here we talk about the history of the Reunion, the many volunteers that are needed and who show up.  We'll also talk a bit about the City of Mount Pleasant because Terry also sits on the City Council.  Let's get started and meet Terry McWilliams.

St. Mark's Neighborhood Fridge with Darryl Ahnemann

I've had the pleasure to know Darryl Ahnemann for several years.  His business is helping non-profits raise much needed money.  He has been in that role for decades. Recently he contacted me to ask about connecting with a religious community in the Greater Des Moines Metro and told me about a program he has been working with other volunteers. It is an amazing story about a food rescue just a year old but breaking new ground every day.  It's the St. Marks Neighborhood Fridge which is open 24/7 for people who are food insecure.  And while this may sound like a hyper-local story we think it’s something that your community could start.  Let’s go!

We were recently together at The Great Eastern Iowa Tractorcade event in Mount Pleasant.  Both of us sitting down with the folks who run the event and those nearly 400 riders that took part. Rus Parker is no stranger to broadcasting.
