Tuesday Aug 27, 2019
Tuesday Aug 27, 2019
Last year California Congressman Ro Khanna was in Jefferson Iowa to help launch the Pillar Technology Hub that will open for the public on September 7th. Congressman Khanna was instrumental in gathering some Silicon Valley giants together for this project and he'll be back for the open house event. I thought it might be valuable to look back at this conversation that happened when the project was announced to an overflow crowd.

Black Friday Comes Every Week!
Thursday Jan 31, 2019
Thursday Jan 31, 2019
When I saw a recent Facebook Post I had to reach out to its author and learn more. Meet Abena Imhotep who gets the idea of "buying local" but adds another twist...a Black Friday every week. This is all about how each of us can support economic prosperity in the African-American Community and watch as we engage in commerce that supports individuals and families. Not sure where to shop on your own Black Friday? Abena gave me this list of Iowa black owned businesses and she is working on yet another. Black Friday...every Friday.

Then in Part Two of our conversation with Dr. Draper we talk about socialism isn't that what he is promoting? Also we speak to the headwinds that Dr. Draper says is killing productivity in the United States and he says it is all because we are stuck on a system that has not worked and will never work. We Talk Violicity Economics with Dr. Chris Draper - Part One
Tuesday Jan 29, 2019
Tuesday Jan 29, 2019
You've all heard of "supply side economics" where the top wage and income earners and corporations receive all sorts of financial perks that will, so the theory goes, then "trickle down" to workers and families. Except that hasn't worked out so well. In fact, says Dr. Chris Draper the author of Velocity Economics, "trickle down has never worked and will never work because it's upside down to what really should be happening. Take some time and learn more in the very interesting conversation.
