Early this morning I got to welcome Jason Feifer the Editor in Chief of Entrepreneur Magazine to Iowa. He was in the Des Moines Metro to headline a breakfast meeting with the Greater Des Moines Partnership and then off for CI-Week with our friend Tony Paustian of DMACC-West. His topic this morning was "How Do Successful Entrepreneurs Think". Before he took the mic he sat down behind our mic and talked about change. More to the point the history we have in refusing to accept change be it a bicycle (not kidding) or recordings of music. In addition he chatted a bit about his new book he wrote with his wife, Jennifer Miller, "Mr. Nice Guy". Click through for more.

Here you'll learn about his successful effort to move the Iowa State Capital from Iowa City to Des Moines. His efforts in the Underground Railroad, slaves from Missouri and his work to develop a railroad hub that served Iowa for decades. Our guest is author, historian and news director for News Talk 1540 KXEL, Jeff Stein who will be in Ankeny on Thursday for a free presentation about his book The Floppy Show and the magic and mind of the late Duane Ellett. It was a chance meeting at a Chick-fil-A in Mobile, Alabama. Margie Odom told me she has been in the food service business for over 35 years and loves her job. As we talked she told me she had just authored a book of inspirational poems. So, we sat down for five minutes so she could tell you about it. Her infectious personality comes through.
