This will be a huge memory jog for those of you who have taken in the Iowa State Fair and had the pleasure of hanging out at Stockman's Inn next to the Cattle Barn. Lyle and Sharon Kreps started this project fifty years ago and this year they retire and turn it over to their kids Brian, Jason and Jennifer. So many stories, so many people and so many good times. Each night of the eleven day fair it's the place to go to hear live country music and reconnect with folks you may not have seen for at least a year. Here we sit down with Lyle and Sharon and son Brian to remember and look ahead. Enjoy the ride...we sure have!

Two things are coming at you: Some amazing Iowa history that you may not know plus an open ride to learn more about the place Iowa held during the days of the Underground Railroad. My guest is Dayna Chandler who is with the Iowa Chapter of Black Girls Do Bike and while we'll chat a bit about that we want to invite you on the ride that will examine the history of Iowa. The Iowa Underground Railroad Ride happens in September and there's plenty of time to get registered for this amazing journey that highlights "freedom seekers" and those Iowans who helped them gain their freedom at a great risk.
