The LPGA and the Solheim Cup

One of the biggest international golf events is the Solheim Cup Tournament and it's in Des Moines this week. Reports are that a record number of tickets, over 130,000 have been purchased to see the best female golfers in the United States compete against the best from Europe. We caught up with Jon Podany the Chief Commercial Officer for the LPGA at the Des Moines Golf and Country Club. Here we talk about the LPGA, the Solheim Cup and the economics of these events. Iowans Supporting Israel An Event

This is not political but it is economics. On Thursday the 17th starting with a lunch at 11:30am Iowans Supporting Israel will meet at the Iowa Bar Association on Court Street in Des Moines. (While this conversation with Harlan "Bud" Hockenberg talks about "tomorrow" the event is Thursday.) Here "Bud" talks about the economics of the Iowa/Israel relationship and invites you to attend the event on Thursday the 17th where Rep. David Young (R-IA) will speak about his recent trip to Israel.
