The Business News Headlines 7 January 2022
Hey, welcome back to the Friday Edition of the business news headlines. Yep...Friday. We'll kick things off with the confusing jobs report and then, a bit later, our hyper local look at Stuff to DO in the Greater Des Moines Metro with Jeff Pitts from Cityview Magazine. But, first the news:
- Disappointing job numbers;
- Or...were they?
- This 91,000 pennies stunt...not a good idea;
- COVID pills and a "Catch 22" at Walmart;
- Heard of "retail shrink"? You will today;
- Where's the beef? In recall mode;
- The Wall Street Report;
- Major businesses cutting paid COVID time off...ouch!
Those stories plus our time with Jeff Pitts. Each week we welcome back Jeff the managing editor for Cityview Magazine for a hyper-local look at "Stuff to DO" in the Greater Des Moines Metro. And, as always he's got a list. We start out talking rodeo...with a back story. Move on to the Des Moines Playhouse and Pigeons. Drake men's basketball is on tap this weekend and next week. There is a Chili Cook Off in Windsor Heights on Saturday and it's a benefit. No Sleep Stand Up over at Wooly's on Saturday night. Some great live jazz at one of the finest places in the city Noce! Blues in the warmth of the Botanical Gardens. The Iowa Wolves are in action next week as is Drake women's basketball and the Winter Gymnastics event and Chow's Winter Classic next week as well. Enjoy! To listen to all of this fun just click HERE!
