The Business News Headlines 15 May 2024
If you are old enough you might remember the 1974 program by the Ford Administration known as WIN or Whip Inflation Now. The government was faced with inflation that hit 12.3% and the program encouraged people to check their spending habits and build their personal savings. President Ford even wanted people to wear a WIN button in an outward sign of solidarity. But, it was a FLOP...big time. Today the top story is also about inflation and we'll cover that first. Meanwhile if you want to reach out to us on Social Media you can hook up with us all day on Twitter or "X" @IOB_NewsHour and on Instagram. Facebook? Sure were there too. Here's what we've got for you today:
- Taming inflation by the numbers;
- Some new retail sales numbers;
- TikTok is back in the news with a likely buyer;
- But, there is a but.
- A big win today for President Biden and consumers;
- Barge hits Bridge. It's becoming a "thing";
- Walmart to share earnings tomorrow what we know today;
- The Wall Street Report;
- And, it's NEVER too soon to talk about football and the NFL.
Thanks for being here!
