The Business News Headlines 1 February 2019
It's Friday and here in the Middle of the Midwest we hit 25 degrees ABOVE zero. That's a 45 degree swing...Iowa, gotta love it. In the business news headlines today:
- The U.S. added 304,000 jobs in January and Wall Street went..."Meh";
- Amazon stock entered bear territory;
- The layoffs at General Motors start on Monday;
- Walmart is looking to benefits to retain and hire quality workers;
- Did you know that all oil is not the same;
- The biggest pension fund in the world lost $136 billion...but relax;
- What happened on Wall Street and why.
Those stories plus on Friday we tend to get a little silly with Jeff Pitts the managing editor of Cityview Magazine and Stuff to DO in the DSMUSA Metro this weekend into next week. And...today we get to welcome back Parker Reed who has been off sleeping or something. Don't be offended but we have fun with everything from music to sports to the arts...but, hey, it's Friday.
