He's been mayor of Des Moines, Iowa for 16 years and says he's not done yet. This week I went "Out to Lunch" with Mayor Frank Cownie and talked about a host of things from new projects, people actually living downtown, public/private partnerships, transportation, the environment, a surging economic base, the lowest unemployment rate of any Midwestern City.
