The Business of Being Roxi Copland

We've had the pleasure of knowing singer/song writer Roxi Copland for several years and followed her work from Iowa to Wisconsin and now Texas. She recently released a new song, "Daddy Don't Do Politics" (and you'll hear a snippet of it here) so we thought it would be a great time to catch up with her and her business. We talk about everything from the impact the pandemic has had on creative musicians to getting radio air-time to the struggles with streaming services like Spotify. And, if you want a peek at "Milwaukee Strong" here you go.  Welcome back Roxi Copland:

The Alchemy of Us with Dr. Ainissa Ramirez

When her book came out a couple of months ago I wrote down that we must have her back and here we are. Dr. Ainissa Ramirez is first a scientist and yet she is also an effective story-teller. The book is The Alchemy of Us - How Humans and Matter Transformed One Another but FULL STOPP...if you are thinking, "Great a book about science...pass." don't! This is both science and history and stories about people you have heard about and others that have passed into oblivion. But each has left a mark on how you and I go about our daily life...  Meet Dr. Ramirez:

29th State Apparel in the Small Business Spotlight

It's amazing what you can find just by listening. A couple of weeks ago I was making some calls from the office and stumbled on the mother of Kylie Kolz one half of something called 29th State Apparel. Kylie, along with her brother Nick, have created a line of clothing that not only cool but has a message. Where does the name come from, what they sell, how they market and more. In addition the startup shares 5% of their profits with local charities. Nice. Meet Kylie right here.
