This will be a huge memory jog for those of you who have taken in the Iowa State Fair and had the pleasure of hanging out at Stockman's Inn next to the Cattle Barn. Lyle and Sharon Kreps started this project fifty years ago and this year they retire and turn it over to their kids Brian, Jason and Jennifer. So many stories, so many people and so many good times. Each night of the eleven day fair it's the place to go to hear live country music and reconnect with folks you may not have seen for at least a year. Here we sit down with Lyle and Sharon and son Brian to remember and look ahead. Enjoy the ride...we sure have!

Meet Filmmaker Jude Rawlins from the U.K. to Making Movies in Iowa
Tuesday May 16, 2023
Tuesday May 16, 2023
This was one of those "out of the blue" connections that we really love. Several weeks ago I was contacted by a former guest of the News Hour, Nancy Vetter, who told me about a man who had moved from the United Kingdom to Marshalltown, Iowa and was making some really good independent films. We followed up with Rebecca Haroldson, an Iowan and cast member who took it from there and we met for coffee and this conversation. Jude Rawlins has created a number of films with more coming out soon and he uses all Iowa talent and tells us...why. Here we touch on his films, his creative ideas and, of course, the business side of making independent films. You're going to enjoy meeting Jude Rawlins...

Welcome to a brand new month, we're grateful you are here and listening. We start off with what was a head-snaping day on Wall Street. The reason? The Central Bank raised the prime lending rate by a quarter point...which was much lower than the jumbo rate increases seen last year. The result is that Wall Street made a dramatic U-Turn. We'll talk about that and more. Plus click ahead for the interview with Terri Stevens who is thriving in a male dominated industry...but, it was not always like that. Also, remember that you can hook up with us all day on Twitter @IOB_NewsHour and on Instagram. Here's what we've got for you today:
Wall Street cheers the recent Fed decision;
Surprise! The number of open jobs are way up;
Is Ticketmaster up to the latest announced tour?
Google and Apple and the White House...it's an issue;
Chick-fil-a drive thru lanes a public hazard?
The Wall Street Report;
And, Netflix has some news about password sharing.
Those stories and a conversation with Terri Stevens who, since seventeen, has been known as Greasy Girl in a male dominated enterprise. Now, years later she is the owner of The Tractor Barn of Missouri...how have things changed? We met up in Nashville during the Annual Conference & Trade Show of the National Tractor Parts Dealer Association. Click this link to listen in.
