Last week we took a two day trip to Lanesboro, MN a tiny rural community of under 780 people. What we found was surprising. Here we sit down with David Hennessey from the Commonweal Theatre Company and taked about how the town took what they had and built on their strengths. It is a lesson in building a sustainable community if you'll look beyond what you may think is reality. Enjoy...we did!

We first learned of the very busy Dwana Bradley from our friend Tiffany Menke of the Urbandale Chamber. She hooked us up and we are so grateful. Dwana is the Editor of The Des Moines Urban Experience the owner of the Urban Media Company and the Executive Director of Iowa Juneteenth. We told you she was busy. The Maine Street Studio - Creativity Unleashed

When we first visited Maine Street Studio we were so taken by the light and the size of the space. Those of you who shoot video or stills get it. Meet Fritz Nordengren the proprietor of Maine Street Studio located in a very cool, historical building. A photographer and self described "story teller" Fritz has this amazing rental studio that allows agencies, photographers, video professionals to come and use on an hourly basis or longer. Shoot food to fashion and more. We were so impressed...have a listen to his story.

Trellis Our Restaurant of the Week!

Here you can enjoy a menu that reflects Lisa's passion for fresh and local in a setting unlike anything else in the Des Moines Metro. With Lisa is Jake Miller the general manager for Port Of Des Moines the company behind Trellis, The Riverwalk Hub, Trellis Catering, J.A. White Riverboat and The River Center the newest event center in the Greater Des Moines Metro. Side note of history: The site of The River Center is the warehouse where Old Tavern Brewing Company, one of the oldest breweries in the Metro, once stood. Here is our conversation...
