Insight on Business the News Hour with Michael Libbie is heard live Monday - Friday from 5PM to 6PM on 1350-KRNT, Des Moines, Iowa. Each day we bring the the Metro the business news of the day along with stock reports, an agricultural report and interviews with business and community leaders. Today, along with the local business news we had these interviews:We spoke with Mark Pierce the stadium announcer for the Iowa Cubs and newly tapped arena announcer for the Iowa Wild hockey team. Good stuff from Mark. Then we visited with Scott Casber the arena voice of the Iowa Barnstormers and the Iowa Energy. He is also Mr.Wrestling and we talked about the recent Olympic decision regarding the sport.In the second half hour Tim Clark from the Amish Haus was in to talk about small business tips and his experience of opening a business during the recession. Today our guests included Ted Irvine the former president of the Des Moines West Side Chamber and a key contributor to a plan known as the Ingersoll and Grand Revitalization Plan that calls for improvements from sewers to streetscapes the latter costing a bit over eleven million dollars. Then in the second half hour we visit with Todd Frederickson the president of the Iowa Wild Hockey Team. Todd has a long history in professional hockey and we talked about the past and shined a light on the future. AHL hockey is coming back to Des Moines. Along with our conversations with news-makers we share the business news of Des Moines along with the Wall Street Journal Report, stocks of local interest and the agriculture report.
