While in Orlando for the National Cattlemen's Beef Association Annual Meeting and Trade Show we met a man who tells stories. More direct, he tells the story of businesses large and small. Eric Grant and Brian Bell founded The Grant Company in 2017 for the purpose of helping business owners find and tell their story because it matters to consumers. Often, Eric says, owners really don't know their story or think their story doesn't matter. However, the Grant Company uses many tools from video to still images the spoken and written word to dive deep into the corporate history and paint a true picture...one that resonates with consumers. We truly "geeked-out" on this conversation because in our other life as a marketing and ad agency we totally get what Eric is doing. Once you hear this...you'll get it as well. Meet the master story teller, Eric Grant.

It's the final day of Cattle Con 2024 here in Orlando. This is the annual meeting of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association and we talked to a host of producers, and those who sell products and services to the beef cattle industry. Here is a stunning fact: Only 2% of the U.S. population is involved in agriculture. One-hundred years ago 25% of the population farmed and ranched. We have become a nation mostly ignorant how food is produced...and, according to NCBA, that can be a danger. In the weeks ahead we'll share some of what we heard. I promise it it will be interesting. Meanwhile, if you want to reach us on social media and if you're on Threads you can find us @Insight_On_Business. And you can hook up with us all day on Twitter or "X" @IOB_NewsHour and on Instagram. Facebook? Sure were there too. Here's what we've got for you today:
HUGE employment numbers for January;
Tesla to recall 2.2 million vehicles sold in the U.S.
The number of news/journalist jobs cut is stunning;
And what that means to you for local news;
A new student loan forgiveness program rolls out;
Big news from the USDA for small cattle producers;
The Fall of 23 and Me;
Seven ways for you to save money in 2024.

This happens to us all the time. Someone sends out a press release, and we read them all, but far too often the story is so hyper-local that it doesn't match our national newscast goals. This presser was about a Des Moines, Iowa based law firm that is celebrating 100 years doing patent law. About five lines in we saw that McKee, Voorhees & Sease (MVS) has clients in 160 countries in areas of technology, industries, pharmaceuticals and many more. All of a sudden this is no hyper-local story and we signed on. Here you will meet Luke Mohrhauser the Managing Partner of MVS with what, we thought, was a brilliant conversation about a host of issues surrounding protecting intellectual property, threats, copywrite infringement and more. Yep, we sorta geeked out on this. Let's go!
