Three Marketing Tips for Business

Some of you know that the engine that powers the Business News Hour is our advertising/marketing agency. Over the years I've had hundreds of companies and business owners as how they might get better at "getting noticed". Some have taken my advice others...not so much. Recently I was in Arizona at an international meeting and a man who owns a company in Alberta, Canada told me he thought the advice I offered years ago was "screwy" but figured he might try the formula anyway. Today Wall Street put a bunch of things behind them and focused on job numbers ahead of the official report due out on Friday.  Here's what we've got for you today:
Strong employment data an a rumor lifted the markets;
Yesterday a big day for Tesla...today? Not so much;
Macy's is closing and now opening stores;
The trade deficit shrinks;
The Wall Street Report;
Because of a duck, insurance has become fun;
Leadership changes at LinkedIn.
Those stories plus:  It's called "market research" you know...what people like and don't like when it comes to products and services. But in this interview there is a major twist. My guest is Robert (Lewy) Lewis the principal at Quester a company doing business with Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies. While there are many market research firms out there Quester is a bit different because they have perfected collecting consumer responses using artificial intelligence. What does that do to the sampling and speed of reporting? We'll let Lewy share that with you.

The Business News Headlines 31 January 2020

This just in as the markets closed: Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar declared a public health emergency over the new coronavirus Friday. Starting Sunday at 5 p.m. ET, all passengers on flights to the United States who have been in Hubei province in China in the last 14 days will be subject to up to 14 days of quarantine.
Now we can be worried...in other news today:
Two major U.S. corporations worry about the global economy;
The 10 "Most Hated" companies in the U.S.
The Wall Street Report
Big day for the U.K.
