Recently Des Moines played host to Techna a conference for organizations that support a wide variety of technology groups across the United States, Canada and now Mexico. It was all made possible through sponsorships and the work of the Technology Association of Iowa. The Keynote Speaker for the event was Ben Milne the founder of Dwolla. While he was on the podium we sat down with Stephanie Atkin for a brief update about the company.

GM said today that if the tariffs continue it could become a much smaller company and that would mean jobs. The markets, sort of, rebounded today but investors still jittery. Speaking of tariffs Canada was back in the news. City Bank says they are sorry and then coughs up $335 million...not because they wanted to. It's the last gasp for Toys R Us and a Des Moines company calls it quits after nearly 150 years in business and it's not because business isn't good.
