When we first visited Maine Street Studio we were so taken by the light and the size of the space. Those of you who shoot video or stills get it. Meet Fritz Nordengren the proprietor of Maine Street Studio located in a very cool, historical building. A photographer and self described "story teller" Fritz has this amazing rental studio that allows agencies, photographers, video professionals to come and use on an hourly basis or longer. Shoot food to fashion and more. We were so impressed...have a listen to his story.

The Film Lounge and Iowa Public Television

For those of you who enjoy independent films we have a treat for you. Meet Chuck Czech the producer of The Film Lounge (#TheFilmLounge) two, one hour episodes that highlight art and experimental films produced by Iowans They will air on IPTV  on Sunday 12 February at 10pm and again on Sunday 19 February at 10pm.

The Film Lounge includes 13 shorts in a broad variety of film types and topics. From classic horror to political documentary it's a must see. There are two free scheduled public screenings as well. On Thursday 9 February at 7pm the free event is at the Fleur Cinema and Cafe in Des Moines and then on Saturday 11 February there is another screening at Palmer's' Pub also at 7pm at the Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Centr in Sioux City. Here is the link to The Film Lounge from IPTV which also had major support from the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, Produce Iowa and the Iowa Arts Council.

Barns and Video Marketing with Tom Laughlin

We connected with filmmaker Tom Laughlin several years ago when he was working on the first season of American Barn Stories and, in that work, touched on a story about a barn in West Des Moines. Tom has a production company, Kovia, in Wisconsin a "one man band" that puts together powerful stories for television and for private use.
