Two weeks ago Joe Galasso reached out to us asking if we might be interested in telling his business story. Once we spent some time researching what he does we said we were interested in letting you know more about Protective Environmental Systems and what they provide to people and businesses across the country. Iowa Custom Murphy Beds - A Small Business Spotlight
Tuesday Nov 12, 2019
Tuesday Nov 12, 2019
Sometimes you find stories where you least expect them. This story comes about because of a sign on the side of a trailer that said, "Iowa Custom Murphy Beds". Now, the Murphy Bed is named after William Lawrence Murphy, who applied for his patent around 1900. These space saving beds fold into a wall or a cabinet and according to legend, Murphy was wooing an opera singer, but living in a one-room apartment in San Francisco, meant that the young lady would have to enter his bedroom. But, once folded into a cabinet the room was, well, no longer a...bedroom. Here is Nancy Vetter with the story about their six year old company that produces Amish made...Murphy Beds.

New Business Spotlight - Bins Be Clean with Rather Welch
Friday May 25, 2018
Friday May 25, 2018
Every time we turn around we learn some thing new. While on vacation here on beautiful Anna Maria Island we noticed a machine that was cleaning out resident trash (garbage cans) and recycling carts. A day later Rather Welch walked into the Island Coffee Haus (where it seems everybody comes by) and we struck up a conversation about the new business, Bins Be Clean. Here is that story about sustainability, a dirty job and adding value to the island lifestyle. And a question: Wouldn't this make sense even in larger communities?
